LAsplash
MAC
Lime Crime
& Urban Decay
LAsplash shadows are placed on the LAsplash eyeshadow primer, and the rest are on Urban Decay primer potion.
LAsplash L-R:
-Marvell (silver), Golden Smoke (black with gold glitter), and Starlit (indigo with silver glitter.)
Under LAsplash
Urban Decay L-R:
-Graffiti (lime green), Rockstar (black with purple glitter)
MAC:
Copper Sparkle (a true copper)
Off to right
Lime Crime L-R:
Dragon Scales (terracotta/brown, green duocrome. very unique.), Empress (purple with purple glitter)
*These are all swatched with primer.
*My camera can not even capture the beauty of all these colors!
Without Primer (same order)
As you can see,
even without any base at all these colors all have decent pigmentation.
The Lime Crime shadows, and LAsplash have the best color payoff with no base.
MAC comes next, this color is lighter than most MAC pigments.
Then Urban Decay.(mostly graffiti, the lime green. rockstar is very pigmented.)
Product Breakdown:
-LAsplash-
L-R
Marvell, Golden Smoke, Starlit.
I got these three colors in a smokey eye kit with a liquid liner, and eyeshadow primer for $17.00, I do not believe mine are full sized.
Price:
$6.99
Amount of product:
1.5 grams
Packaging:
decent, could use a sifter to reduce spillage and getting to much product.
Product:
Definitely worth the money. These are incredibly pigmented, easy to blend, and not to mention some of the most beautiful colors I've seen!
Overall: 4/5
Product packaging needs work, and more product in the packaging would fit. They are only a little more than half full. Definitely will buy more from this brand.
-Urban Decay-
*GRAFFITI*
*ROCKSTAR*
I bought these two pigments when Urban Decay had the five dollar sale.
and i am so glad that's all i paid for them.
Price:
$20.00
Amount of product:
0.4 oz or 1.2 grams
Packaging:
well... they wont spill... and that's the only good thing. Once again UD has made a product with packaging that is not practical. The brush they give you inside wastes so much product, and is COMPLETELY useless... The lid collects pigment therefore wasting more of this overpriced product.
Product:
Graffiti, the lime green color is actually one of my favorite green colors to use, even though the packaging sucks. It is smooth, and easy to blend, not much fall out. Rockstar... is a beautiful color until you even try to apply it. It flies EVERYWHERE, and everyone knows black fallout=bbaaaddd. It is chalky, mean to other products, and creases even with UDPP. I hate it.
Overall: 2/5
Twenty dollars for unpractical packaging and a tiny, tiny, tiny amount of product is ridiculous. These pigments are fifty cents more than a MAC pigment and not even half the price or quality. I love both of these colors as pan shadows but as pigments I will not re buy or try any others. I'm really glad I only spent five dollars on each, but, none the less... a waste. Especially since the lid and brush make you lose product.... ok. end rant.
-MAC-
*NOTE, this is not anywhere near the amount of pigment i bought, nor is this the original packaging. I spilled about half of it, put it in a little container and put the actual bottle in my purse to take back to MAC. It broke.
Price:
$19.50
Amount of product:
4.5 grams or 0.15 ounces.
Packaging:
well the actual packaging is a tall clear thing with a black lid, it also says MAC on the side and product label is on bottom. The packaging is very good and PRACTICAL. It is my fault it spilled and broke haha.
Product:
Very beautiful, my favorite of the MAC pigments i own. Easy to work with. Pigmented well. However, it is about twenty dollars, and LAsplash is literally the same grade and quality. not as much product, but they are only seven dollars. obviously MAC is a more professional brand. And the pigment is packed to the top when you buy it. I love them both :)
Overall: 4/5
It is very easy to spill, but that is really my only complaint.
-Lime Crime-
*DRAGON SCALES*
*EMPRESS*
Price:
$14.00
Amount of product:
0.14 ounces
Packaging:
Very cute with the unicorn :) The packaging is nice. It has a sifter and is just normal packaging. I haven't had any difficulties.
Product:
I love these. they are crazy pigmented, and easy to work with. Empress is much easier to work with than Dragon Scales because DS has the green glitter in it. Both are very nice.
Overall: 4/5
You get a good amount and good quality for your money. They are seven dollars less than MAC and only 0.1 ounces less. You will never worry about them moving, once they are on. they are on. and they stain a tiny bit.
**I know of all the drama with LC, this is my honest review and I have had nothing but positive things come my way from Doe Deere and her company. I was the featured futurette in her newsletter in June, 2010. but this does not effect my opinions in any way, shape, or form. Do not post negative statements on my blog unless you have a legitimate reason for doing so :) we are nice here we don't bash, we give genuine, uninfluenced opinions.**
